What is the Standard Nut Width for Most Guitar Kit World Kits?Updated 2 hours ago

If nut width is especially important to your build, please check the Product Specifications on the kit page or contact us for confirmation.

Most of our 6-string kits (ST, TE, LP, PR, E25, L5, E75 etc.) come with a nut width of 42 mm.

This size is common across many electric guitars and offers a comfortable balance for most players.

What is the Nut Width for 7-String Kits?

For 7-string kits the nut width is 45 mm or 48 mm.

What is the Nut Width for 4-String Bass Kits?

For 4-string bass kits the nut width is ~41 mm (1.61").

What is the Nut Width for 5-String Bass Kits?

For 5-string bass kits the nut width is ~45 mm (1.77").

What is the Nut Width for 6-String Bass Kits?

For 6-string bass kits the nut width is ~56 mm (2.2").

Can Nut Width Vary Slightly Between Kits?

Yes. As with all woodworking, there can be a tolerance of 0.1–0.3 mm. This does not affect playability, and every neck is produced to properly fit its matching body

Can I Request a Custom Nut Width?

Yes! If you’re looking for a specific nut size or neck profile, you can order through our Custom Shop. For example:

  • Wider nut width for extended range guitars.
  • Chunkier necks (like “Fat/Wide” profiles with ~1” thickness at the nut).

Summary

  • Most 6-string guitar kits = 42 mm nut width.
  • Most 7-string guitar kits = 45 mm nut width.
  • Most 4-string bass kits = 40 mm nut width.
  • Minor tolerance (0.1–0.3 mm) is normal due to woodwork.
  • For specific requests, check product specs or order via the Custom Shop.
