For testing, here a 5 way pickup Selector. 

Here is a simple breakdown of how to test each switch position. Just gently tap the pickup's magnetic poles with something metal, like a screwdriver, to hear a "click" through your amp: Position 1 (closest to neck): Tests the neck pickup. 

Position 2: Tests both the neck and middle pickups. 

Position 3 (center): Isolates the middle pickup. 

Position 4: Tests both the middle and bridge pickups. 

Position 5 (closest to bridge): Isolates the bridge pickup. Volume control: Turn the knob up and down while tapping to ensure it adjusts the output smoothly without any static.
