How do you test the sound of the guitar?Updated 22 days ago
Plug in and work through every pickup position: bridge, middle (both pickups together), and neck.
Then switch to the middle position, turn both volume controls to 10, and take your hands off the guitar. You should hear no hum or electrical interference. If you do, the ground circuit is the likely cause, so open the electronics cavity and check for a loose black ground wire or a cold joint.
Last, play every note up and down each string, listening for buzzing or dead notes. Either one points back to neck relief or action.
