How do you install the guitar pickups?Updated 22 days ago
Identify the two pickups first. The bridge pickup has the larger pickup ring profile. Fit them so the pole pieces face outward from each other, meaning the taller edge of each pickup faces away from the other. Marking one with a scrap of tape saves confusion later.
Fit the strings before you commit. With the strings on, you can square the neck pickup to the end of the fretboard and centre both pickups so the outer pole pieces sit evenly under the outer strings. It does not have to be perfect.
When you are happy with the position, mark and drill pilot holes, and use the eight longer screws, not the short ones for the covers and pickguard.
