Bolt-on necks attach with a neck plate and four screws, and the order matters. Once any masking is off the neck pocket, set the heel of the neck into the pocket first, then push the rest of the neck down flat.

Flip the guitar over, sit the neck plate on the back so its holes line up with the pre-drilled holes, and drive the four large screws that came in your kit packaging.

Do not force a neck that will not seat. If the heel will not drop in, stop and check the pocket for finish build-up.
