Yes. The frets in our DIY guitar kits are installed by machine during manufacturing, so you do not need to install them yourself.

How the frets are installed

• The frets are pressed into the fretboard by machine.
• No glue is used to install the frets.
• The frets are installed before the kit is shipped to you.

What you may still need to do

Some builders choose to have a professional perform light fretwork, such as leveling, crowning, or polishing, to fine-tune the feel and playability of the finished guitar. This is finishing work, not fret installation.

On current kits the fret ends come rounded and smooth from the factory, so no hand sanding or polishing is needed before you play. Older stock kits had their fret ends finished by hand, so those ends are not as rounded or as smooth.

If a fret looks loose or uneven

Do not add glue or try to force the fret back into place. Take a clear photo of the area and contact our support team so we can advise you on the correct next step.
