Do Guitar Kit World Kits Come Pre-Drilled?Updated 8 days ago
Yes — all of our stock DIY guitar kits come pre-drilled and ready for installation of the included hardware.
What’s Pre-Drilled
Pickup cavities
Control cavities & wire routing channels
Bridge and tailpiece holes
Tuner holes in the headstock
This means all the essential drilling for pickups, electronics, and hardware is already completed at the factory.
What You May Still Need to Drill
In some cases, you may need to make small additional drillings, such as:
Pickguard holes – If your kit includes a pickguard, pilot holes for screws may not be pre-drilled.
Strap button holes – Strap buttons (strap pins) may not be pre-installed, allowing you to place them where you prefer for balance and comfort.
Custom Modifications – If you’re upgrading hardware or using non-standard parts, you may need to drill extra holes to fit your chosen components.
Custom Shop Kits
If you order from our Custom Shop, drilling will depend on your specifications. For example:
You may choose to leave certain parts of the body undrilled (e.g., pickup routing, bridge holes).
This gives you more flexibility but also means more hands-on work is required.
Summary
Stock kits = pre-drilled for all major hardware and electronics.
You may need to drill = pickguard pilot holes, strap button holes.
Custom Shop kits = drilling depends on your chosen customization options.
