Are Guitar Kit World Kits Compatible with Fender, Gibson, or Other Guitar Parts?Updated 9 days ago
We often get asked if our DIY kits are cross-compatible with parts from other brands such as Fender, Gibson, or Squier—or if you can purchase only part of a kit (for example, a body) and fit it with a neck from another guitar.
Compatibility with Other Brands
Our kits are not designed as direct replacements for Fender, Gibson, or other branded guitar parts. While it’s sometimes possible to combine parts, this typically requires modification, such as:
Shimming the neck pocket
Reshaping or sanding the neck heel
Re-drilling mounting holes
Confirming scale length and intonation alignment
For these reasons, we recommend treating our kits as complete projects rather than mixing them with parts from other manufacturers.
Partial Orders (Bodies or Necks Only)
At this time, we do not sell individual kit parts (such as only the body or neck). Each kit is sold as a complete set, ensuring that all included parts are compatible and ready to be built into a working instrument.
